The workhorse of the dual plate family: Goodwin’s Dual Plate Carbon Steel valve is now available from RPV in the US
Goodwin’s Dual Plate Carbon Steel range is now in stock in the USA, in sizes from 2” to 24” across 150#, 300# and 600#.
It’s the broadest Goodwin range we carry – bigger in scope than any of our other dual plate lines – and it’s built to be the workhorse valve for standard service, where extreme temperature or corrosion resistance isn’t the deciding factor.
Three styles, one range
Because the size range runs all the way up to 24”, construction varies more here than anywhere else in the dual plate lineup. From 2” to 16”, it’s built to the BR standard wafer design, fitted neatly between flanges. From 2” to 10”, the BSR lug through-drilled style is also available – useful when you need to isolate one side of the line without disturbing the rest of the pipework. From 12” up to 24”, it moves to the BFR double flanged design, built for the larger bore.
A choice of plate material
The body is cast in WCB, the industry-standard cast carbon steel and the most widely specified body material there is. The plates can be specified in either CA15 or CF8M – a 13% chrome stainless or the cast equivalent of 316 stainless – so you can match the plate grade to whatever the process fluid actually needs, without paying for a fully alloyed body to get it. The springs are Inconel X-750, a nickel-chrome alloy that keeps its temper long after the media has had its say.
Seat options to suit the application
This is where the carbon steel range gives you more choice than the rest of our dual plate valves. Alongside FHF metal seats for a reliable metal-to-metal seal in higher-temperature or more aggressive duty, you can also specify Viton or Buna-N soft seats. Soft seats trade some temperature range for tighter, bubble-tight shutoff – Viton where chemical resistance matters, Buna-N where the service is water-based and the budget matters too.

As with every Goodwin Valve we bring into the US, PMI, radiographic testing and magnetic particle examination are carried out as standard on every valve. What you specify is what turns up.
