New stock in the US: Goodwin Dual Plate Stainless Steel Valves
Goodwin’s Dual Plate Carbon Steel range is now in stock in the USA, in sizes from 2” to 24” across 150#, 300# and 600#.
It’s the corrosion-resistant counterpart to our chrome ranges, built for applications where the process fluid – not temperature or pressure – is the deciding factor in material selection. That makes it well suited to chemical processing, water and wastewater, pulp and paper, food and beverage, and general industrial service.
One casting, two specifications
Here’s some details worth knowing. The body and plates are dual certified to CF8M and CF3M. CF8M is the cast equivalent of 316 stainless, and CF3M is its low-carbon cousin – the grade you reach for when welding is involved and you want to avoid carbide precipitation weakening the material afterwards. Rather than stocking two separate ranges, a dual certified casting meets both specifications from the same piece of material, which means one valve can satisfy whichever spec your project calls for.
Two styles, depending on size
Smaller sizes and larger sizes are built differently, and both are engineered to make installation and servicing straightforward. From 2” to 6”, the range is built to the BR standard wafer design, fitted neatly between flanges. From 2” right through to 10”, the BSR lug through-drilled style is also available if you need to isolate one side of the line without disturbing the rest of the pipework.
The rest of the build
The seats are FHF metal, giving a reliable metal-to-metal seal without relying on an elastomer that the process fluid might not get on with. The springs are Inconel X-750, a nickel-chrome alloy with long lasting performance.
Traceable, every time
PMI, radiographic testing and magnetic particle examination are carried out as standard on every valve.
